Room 8 are off to the Zoo!

21st Jun 2025

3rd class had a wonderful day in Dublin Zoo for our school tour on Monday. We were fortunate to have lovely sunshine the whole day and started off with a Rainforest Ranger workshop with Jennie, who introduced us to some rainforest animals and taught us about their adaptations and which layer of the rainforest is their habitat. We saw snakes, crocodiles, turtles and tortoises, iguanas and poisonous frogs in the reptile house and then Jennie brought us to some of the bigger rainforest animals outside - the Asian elephant and tapirs. We then visited many other animals in the zoo including the giraffes, zebras, rhinos, oryx, aye-ayes, gorillas, gibbons, orangutans, red pandas, tigers, lions, Humboldt penguins, Californian seals, flamingos, macaques, snow leopards and cheetahs. The class are now doing lots of learning and projects about the animals after a great day was had by all!
